important zoom access information
1 - make sure zoom is installed on your computer or mobile device (it's free).
if you have zoom on your device but haven’t updated it in a while, consider updating now.
if you're new to zoom and/or aren’t familiar with its commands, we recommend you download & try it out before the day of the workshop.
2 - installing and using zoom
to install zoom click this link to either download the “zoom client for meetings” for computers or “zoom mobile apps” for mobile devices (e.g. smartphone or ipad).
if you have any trouble installing zoom, reach out to Kenyatta
once you have it set up, take a moment to get familiar with the participant controls. some zoom functions on the participant controls that will be handy for our interactive session are:
chat - how to read the chat and enter messages in the chat
mute / unmute
video start / stop
reaction -> raise hand (in the reaction)
speaker view <->gallery view - how to navigate back and forth
if you are joining by phone, please note the following commands:
*6 - mute / unmute
*9 - raise hand
*# - hear the number of participants in the meeting
